Workshop presentation:

The integrative strategic model of the self represents a theoretical vision, but also a practical modality of psychotherapeutic intervention. The theoretical grounding is based on knowledge from neuroscience, attachment psychology, human developmental psychology, cognitive sciences, and existentialism. The suggested psychotherapeutic interventions are part of the technical eclecticism from Gestalt, psychodynamics, pscyhosynthesis, etc.

The strategic integrative model of the self brings in: a theory for the human becoming  through the emergence of the basic self, central, plastic and external; a psychotherapeutic strategy by acting on the components of the self and a diagnostic method based on the analysis of the axes of Attachment: Biological, cognitive, familial, psychodynamic, existential.

The purpose of the workshop is to present the existential axe from the level of the basic self: the internal models of work for the fundamental concerns, the contact with the world, the time and spirituality and how this contents of the basic self, emerge into the central Self, the plastic and external self. The emergence of the contents happens under external environmental influences, but also under the internal ones, without bypassing conflicts. Conflicts can be the source of neurosis, somatic disturbances and psychosis.
Conflicts present this way from the perspective: of duality of death-fear of dying; freedom and taking responsibility; loneliness and assuming a relationship; searching for the meaning of life in a world without meaning. In his becoming, the individual is subjected to assimilating family values and social values, his accepting or dismissing of this values also generates conflicts.

The delimitation of the boundaries of the Self or the non-delimitation of the contact between the Self and the world generates conflicts. Gestalt, through its techniques could bring a solution to the conflicts determined by confluence, introjection, projection and retroflection.
Spirituality is a personal way of living and practicing the religious behavior or not. And it can be perceived as a transcendence of the Self. The beliefs about spirituality, the mechanisms for maintaining a religious behavior and practicing the religious behavior are also potential sources for conflict in the human existence.

The case studies will sustain the ideas of the workshop.
